When I was looking at cloth nappies for Chipmunk’s still-cooking bum, I didn’t have much money spare. I was after the cheapest thing I could find that would do the job. A comment on a message board led me to eBay, and a store called Frank Masons. There I found Cheeky Munky nappies.
Cheeky Munky are a one size fits most, pocket nappy. They came with terry towelling inserts, which do a pretty good job on soaking up liquid. The pocket is made of PUL on the outside, and polyester on the inside. We haven’t had any issues with Chipmunk’s bum staying wet, so the polyester does a good job of wicking the urine through. Following on from Wednesday’s post, here’s how I sort out my day and keep track of all the things I need to get done as a housewife/mother/writer/awesome Crunchy Squirrel.
My daily To-Do list used to be miles long and I never got anything done. After I discovered the 4 Hour Work Week, though, I promptly switched to the uber-short list recommended there. Here’s what some previous To-Do’s I wrote look like:
This is the main use my 3″ square Post-its get. I write with Sharpie, Connector pen, or some other chunky marker. This serves two purposes.
As promised, I’m here to share what works for me in terms of keeping my stuff together and organised. It’s a pretty mixed bunch – I’ve not yet found an overarching system that works. So I’ve cobbled this together over the years, between the trials and errors.
My system is not for those who crave prettiness. It’s for those of us who need to know where things are and what needs doing. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE some of the labels and print-outs I’ve seen on organising blogs. I just don’t have the time or the patience to set up something so… coherent for myself. I’m happy with quick-and-dirty solutions that can be changed and updated on the fly. Below is 80% of my organising toolkit:

Oh looky, it’s posting time of week again! The time when I sit down, ready to pour forth my inspiration on the world and make the blogosphere a happier, more useful, shinier place.
Except I seem to have hit a small snag. I call it “diet and stress-induced anxiety”. Sadly, dear readers, I have been neglecting my self-care rather badly the last week. I’ve been overdosing on coffee in the form of double-espresso mochas, heavy on the cocoa (it’s just so tasty, alright?) I’ve forgotten to eat as much or as well as I normally do. When I HAVE eaten, it’s been the quick and easy stuff – which translates to far too many carbs and nowhere near enough protein. I keep forgetting that since I’m cycling more, I need more fuel, and more protein to keep the muscles going. (I shudder to think how much worse this will look when I start lifting weights again.)
